Are the 4000's better optically than the 5000's?

The 4000's are still a very popular EP, and theoretically, the 5000's should be better as they are newer but I doubt most people can tell the difference!

As for it's worth.... what are you willing to pay??

The cheapest that EP has gone for is £10.50 and the most has been £56.00 is doesn't include PP on Ebay (I'm sad as I've a wish list and keep trace of such things so I don't get stung)

usually they sell for around £20. I got mine for £21 + free PP.

This is in the last three years btw.

They are great eyepieces and a definite step up from those supplied. I recently sold 2 Meade 4000 plossl's on fleabay, I got £10.50 for the 26mm and £20.87 for the 9.7mm so somebody got a great deal there as they were perfect. I hope the 5000 are better as I have a 24mm SWA coming soon.
