Solar observing at work!

I took my little celestron 70mm with baader filter to work this week..

At lunchtime I offerred to show anyone who was interested the sun spots...

EVERYONE (about 15 people) came out and they were all interested and enjoyed the view..

Lots of questions about the nature of sunspots...

Perhaps a good way to get people interested in Astronomy!

Nice one. It is always nice to get others involved. There are a lot of "latent astronomers" out there

With the transit of Venus in 2004 I took my scope to work (the C8) and sat outside grading stuff whilst periodically taking pictures. A lot of colleagues came to have a look.

If I took my equipment to work I'd probably get shot by the CNC police Even if it was authorised I would have to spend a week generating Risk Assessments and probably have to have public liability insurance!
