M27 - unmodded DSLR

OK, I don't think Olly will be quaking in his boots(!), but pretty pleased with my first attempt at the dumbbell. It's 28x180s subs with darks, flats and bias. Diff spikes added on using Noel's actions.

Nice one. You can boost the red locally (as I have done in Gimp), to compensate for having an unmodded camera

Good start Get that camera modded - makes all the difference But why add an aberration to an aberration free image?

Thanks Michael, that's helped things along! I'd like to get the Sony modded but it needs to double up as my bird pix cam - am saving up for a CCD though I don't get star spikes naturally with my scope, so I thought I'd them in here. I'm not sure about them tbh, but it's a matter of personal choice of course.

Levels (indivual R, G, B separately), Curves, Contrast, Saturation, Colour Balance.

can i buck the trend and say i really like the original? it's like a more impressive, detailed version of what you see through the eyepiece. really subtle. i like it.
