Solar Filter arrived, yippee, First Light Pics

Hi,

well it was just my lucky day. My solar filter from Kendrick arrived today, and yes it was clear as well. I must admit to being a little nervous about using a solar filter, but triple checked everything, before giving the command to the scope to go to the sun, usual warning there. Passed my hand over the eyepiece to make sure.

And after getting the focus done, I was pretty amazed at the clarity of the sun spots. I could even make out some granulation, especially the one nearest the limb.

So after a while I decided to get some pics. The focusing proved to be more tricky than the other planets, but I think they came out ok.

Now I can use the scope 24/7, cool

well done i got my solar filter couple days ago and ever since it's been nothing but cloud and rain so cant put cams on test through me scope.

hopefully it clears soon so can test.
