not turned out as planned , but dont want to mess with it. ive no printer/scanner at the moment .so i took a snap of the sketch ,put it on the p.c and inverted through paint.

at least i think thats what i did !

ive made it look like individual stars went down to the core, of course they didnt.just my sketching virginity showing.

You did well to get all the sizes of the stars accurate which is the hardest part of it I think.

There a lot wrong in all honesty. But I've not sketched since school. I will certainly be doing more, be a nice learning curve.

Nice start. Stippling stars in and then giving it a light smoothing with a paper blending stump is a nice technique for globs.

Looks good to me mate! I've not had a go at a cluster yet, they look too intimidating to me! Maybe I'll try next clear weekend.

cheers guys. i like looking at sketches,which is whats giving me an urge to try it. also i can keep my written descriptions to a minimum when i sketch.

as for accuracy, well apart from the core (blending stump next) its slightly out o shape , and probably to big as i got carried away dotting stars at the edges.

but ,thanks for the comments and any tips always welcomed.
