its great . im going to use it on nights i cant observe to try and learn some techniques. i know its common to say , but i REALLY cant draw. my art teacher once called me something i cant write here as he thought i was taking the micky out of his art class ,such was my excuse of a picture ! but i really fancy sketching, so i might practice with images and other peoples sketches and try to see how it all works. but my god it will take me a while to draw a dot !

hey cheaper than astrophotography, pencils ,paper ,and maybe a blending stub ?

happy days.

Sharp pencils and don't press too hard :hello2:

A paper blending stump is great for smooth areas of nebs and galaxies. I colour in a dark patch on scrap paper, then pick up the graphite with the blending stump and use it like a pencil but very ligthly working from the darkest (lightest after inverting) areas outwards. Don't go from faint to dark with colour on the tip because you get unwanted marks.

I am rubbish at art as well but I found that by using blending stumps and taking it step by step I managed to produce some decent sketches. Not to mention the fact that it trains the mind and eyes to detect faint detail.

Best thing about sketching for me is that its just so relaxing, a nice way to unwind after a busy day.

i really like that idea mike. dont know if id find it relaxing on a freezing cold evening, but id like to find out. birthday list is pencils and paper, no e/p's for now.;)
