Crayford Focuser

Recommended Posts

I had a Crayford on my old ST80 that I sold. It was a GSO one that I bought from Ageno Astro in the US. They don't seem to sell them direct in the UK. They do single and double speed ones, the double speed ones will end up costing £150 by the time it's imported from the US so not cheap. It was good quality and I shouldn't have old the scope but....

You can buy an Opticstar AR80 gold scope with a Crayford focuser for that money and people rate those above the ST80s

I replaced the ST80 with another ST80 and this time I used a Skywatcher electric focuser, works really well and only £50

Thanks

There is the TS Monorail Focuser that is available with the 86mm flange that will fit the ST80. (£169.00) A very good focuser.

Or get the TS Adapter to fit 2" Crayford Focusers to 90mm Tubes (£32.00 delivered)

That will let you fit most of the readily available crayfords to the ST80. It's not just for the Steeltrack focusers.
