The Moon & Pleiades, 23-4-12

This caught me on the hop... I knew there was going to be a nice little "flypast" between these two tonight, but the forecast was for near wall-to-wall cloud, so I'd all but settled in for the night. However, I peeked out the kitchen window just as twilight hit, and noticed breaks in the cloud, and surprising clarity too. So, no great adventures involved, I just setup the camera + tripod + mixture of 70-200 / 100-400 in the kitchen, opened the window, and took some snaps until they both disappeared into the orange mush behind the trees.

Oh, that is really nice. Seriously.

I do love the odd shot which has 24 hours of LRGB plus some narrow band of an obscure nebula, through a mega-scope. But I love these kind of shots more so.
