Skywatcher R&P focusser upgrade.

I currently have a R&P focusser on my scope. I am looking to start some ap, and potentially hang a dslr off it. From my understanding on a R&P focusser this is not recommended. The focusser is not great anyway, so I was considering upgrade. I was looking at the "SkyWatcher Dual-Speed 2-inch Crayford Focuser Explorer 150-300P", please can anyone tell me if this will take 1.25" ep's out of the box?

Mine for my SC certainly does. Came with a 1.25" convertor.

I don't think the standard R&P can reach focus with a DSLR anyway. I had to use a low profile focusser but I do have the older blue tube 200p.

Hi Adam,

I put a Moonlite CR2 (FLO have them) on my 200P, which I can thoroughly recommend. Mind you it did cost more than the actual tube, gulp! The SkyWatcher dual speed Crayford would probably be the way to go being sensible!

There's a focusser review in this months Sky at Night. The Revelation astro model comes out quite well at only £104.
