After much worrying and questioning and faffing about with collimation I think I've cracked it (not perfect but certainly an improvement). I GOT MY FIRST GLIMPSE OF VENUS IN PHASE (I think thats what you call it lol). Small silvery disc but only half of it. Does that sound about right ? A rabbit of positive euphoria...I'M A HAPPY BUNNY:icon_salut:

Sounds about right to me. Venus looked like a white half moon to me a few days back, much smaller of course. Well done with the dreaded C. Collimation I mean.

Yep Venus is showing a half phase at the moment. Sounds like your collimation is pretty spot on.

You won't see any detail on Venus simply because there are none to see. If you are seeing a nicely sharp half phase (similar to the Moon), you are good to go.

yep saw it last night, half phase, looks cool... but far too bright.
