Cracking scope for beginner

Recommended Posts

This has to be worth a punt for a beginner. It's definitely a Tal. Looks in great condition, and with custom built packing case I think it will be a bargain.

If he has all the electrics/transformer etc, why has he not plugged it in and tried it ? :)

I was wondering that too:rolleyes:

The siberian blue;) one's, are some of the oldest of the 2M's.

If in good nick, these scopes are up there with some of the great scope packages on the second hand market. The massive EQ mount is superb and can take a ton load(Mine carries 20Kg when fully loaded). I have one as my main mount and will never let it go.

Hello Andy, Did the Tal 2Ms have the helical focusser and push to fit eyepieces on the older ones?

Don't know about the very oldest 2M's, but all the ones I've seen or read about, like this old blue one, have the R&P focuser. Just not 100% sure if the fit is 32mm or 31.75mm.

Andy.

Edit: The pics of the eyepieces and barlow are giving off a 32mm vibe.
