First Solar Image

Hi all i have just taken my first solar image with my telescope (Meade etx 90 AT) and an Orion glass filter and my Canon EOS 300d camera

Nice image - its nice to see the activity increasing again with a few more spots appearing.

The filter seems to give a pleasing colour to the image. If I may be hypercritical - I think you could be a little sharper with the focus but that may just be due to the atmosphere and low Sun at this time of year. Have you tried taking multiple shots and stacking them in Registax? I usually take 64 or so and stack them - it makes a big difference. With the set-up you have you cannot get the full disc in one frame so you may have to make a mosaic of two frames - you can use Microsoft ICE for this. Both softwares mentioned are free. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your advice will look at taking multiple images next time, i have just downloaded a stacking program
