Please advise how easy/hard is it to follow say the moon or jupiter with a dobsonian?

Really quite easy. I was worried about this at first, but after about 10 min you don't even have to think about it, you just nudge the scope automatically.

It'll feel awkward at first but you'd soon get accustomed to it. If you can stretch to a 200P dob it would be easier - the object stays in the eyepiece longer the bigger the aperture. But it also depends on magnification - the higher you go the harder it is to follow cos objects start to really shift at high mags

I regularly track at 300x with my 16" Dob. Very much doubt you'll be using any where near that power in a 6".

Is a 6 inch dob going that much better than the 4 and half inch Tal 1 for looking at moon and jupitr? I have a Tal now.

I find it far more intuitive nudging the Dob than I did pressing buttons on a goto.

I expect it will be better but not earth shatteringly better.
