Anyone know if these need a 12v supply or not?

every picture i have seen does not show a lighter connection but shows a cable coming out of frame see below

If they do need a power source can these be disconnected once alignment is complete?

No independent power source needed, gets power via mount (or PC). It either connects to the mount using one lead or to a PC using the usb.
