Help needed from Surrey members

Hi all

I'm in need of some help. I've recently moved to Camberley in Surrey. Unfortunately in the move I had to compromise on the garden so I now have nowhere to observe/ image from. The next sticking point is that I don't have access to a car to drive to a dark site or astro meet and carrying scope,mount and all the other gear on the bus or train isn't really an option

So what I'm asking is if there are any members on here that are looking for a observing buddy when going out either for safety or just for company, that live near Camberley who might be willing to swing by on there way to a good dark site and pick me up

I'm more than happy to split petrol costs.

If anyone can help that is looking for a observing buddy please drop me a pm I would be very grateful

Would love to help but unfortunately I am on the other side of Surrey.

I do most of my local observing near Dorking.

I do travel to dark skies regularly but TBH I don't have much room in my little van once the 16" Dob is in It.

No worries Steve thanks for replying it's maybe a longshot but I thought it was worth a go.

I didn't think I would find it that hard not being to go out whenever I wanted but the last couple of clear nights have really got me itching to get out

At the moment I'm looking at maybe getting to use the scope 1-2 times in the year when I go up to the other halves mums place in Sussex

It's not looking too good. Maybe I will try in the hants astro group section as I'm very close to the Hampshire border as well

Ranmore is the opposite direction to Camberley for me so can't help either I'm afraid.

Pretty sure there have been other forum members in the Camberley area - have you tried the 'where are we feature' on the site, the flags show member names so you could try PM'ing them?

I can't see that where are we feature. Exactly where is it ?

Thank you for you help with all this I really don't want to have to give up this hobby but unless I can find a local good Samaritan i might end up calling it quits
