  1. What's new in this club
  2. Hello Members If you look at the membership you will see that I am classed as the 'owner' and 'leader' Clearly it would be better for a local member to take on the role? Can you advise me if you wish to take on this role. Mark
  3. hi Stu640 good to see some people local too! will be good to catch up / meet with everyone soon - hoping for some clear nights ! Once got some clear nights ahead will suggest a couple of dates, Ranmore common is nearest semi dark place im familiar with so suggest that as a starter

  6. hi Stu Bignor is good - been there once but over 2 years ago - not for a while! Hoping to get there again soonish again. Normally head to Ranmore, if its looking good can plan to head there - though weather not holding out too well at moment! Likewise if can get in a session would be good. Jamie
  7. Hi Jam1e1, Our Group went to Bignor on Friday, was pretty good. Where do you normally go? Ranmore? I’m at SGLSP in Lucksall for next new moon. May be able to sneak another session in next week but probably not a very late one. Stu
  8. Business trip next week and off for a dark Starparty around the next new moon. So suggest some dates and locations. Peter
  9. hi all Been a while since a meet up has been organised! Would be good see who is about (all welcome) and then arrange a meet up, so please drop a note to say hi if you are up for a meet up soon. Weather this week not looking great so will keep an eye out, hopefully sometime next week if weather improves! Jamie
  10. hi move to new area , will give it a go to get something going in September when darker
  11. You may have noticed that we have created a new heading, above the banner, called 'Clubs'. The plan is to move all the existing social groups and observatories to this new area. Currently there are 17 different groups some more active than others. You need to advise me, in this thread, whether you wish your social group to be moved, otherwise the group will be closed and archived. I look forward to hearing from someone within group for us to take necessary admin action.
  12. Nice Jupiter vid - hope we'll see more

  14. Hi and welcome to SGL! This is a great place to be, there's loads of people who will be able to hel and also if you use the search function you will probably find the answers to many of your questions Another good place to get help from would be a local astro club if there's one near you... Sorry my geography is terrible and I have no idea where Shepperton is, but here is a link to a list of astro clubs around the UK for you to peruse Look forward to seeing you around
  15. Hi Mrpepperman (and wife), welcome to SGL.
  16. Try get along to a Walton Astro Group. I'm in Hampton and happy to help. In the next week or so if you can get the moon in the field of view just pop a camera phone to the eyepiece and see how you get on. cheers peter
  17. hi welcome to SGL! You may have better luck with responses by posting in the 'getting started.....' sections
