Hi guys,

just making sure I'm not being stooopid there with the price of an EQ3-2.

As I'm still thinking of a sturdy mount, I've been doing some research...

Here's the issue (from the same vendor):

as a kit

EQ3-2 | £165.00

EQ3 motor kit | £89.00

Synscan | £140.00

total | £394

All-in-one

EQ3-2 PRO | £398.00

Shouldn't the 'All-in-one' be cheaper than buying all the parts separately?

Or am I missing something else?

The EQ3-2 Pro doesn't exist, it's an EQ3 Pro.

Different mounts if I understand correctly.

Gonzo the motors on the pro are different to the stand alone upgrade ones. Before you buy may I ask what telescope your planning to put on it.

Same mount, different (more accurate) motors on the EQ3 Pro, plus it has a port for an autoguider.

Yes the complete mount costs less than buying the non-goto EQ3-2 mount and the go to kit separately. The Synscan upgrade kit costs about £300 not the prices you quoted. The dual axis motor (non-goto) costs £89 and the older v2 Synscan handset £140.
