Planetary ep for C9.25, 7 or 9mm?

Hi,

Having read the sticky on all you need to know about eyepieces I have so far collected a 13mm Nagler, 19mm Panoptic and 31mm Nagler (monster that I'm yet to use!).

The advice in the sticky is to go approx 7mm for high power but I'm cautious that this may be too much for our average seeing. Do you think I would get more use at say 9mm?

Any thoughts or experience from others much appreciated.

i would say a 9mm which as you say seeing conditions dont always allow for more. but when it gets colder who nos hopefully seeing will be better and more often

For my C9.25 I have a 10mm EP which gets a lot of use and an 8mm EP that gets very little use. The 8mm is still worth having for those few special days where the seeing is good enough to use it.

I use 9mm most of the time for Jupiter, 8mm on the moon, 7mm on good nights for Mars and Saturn, 6mm on the moon on the very best nights.

I use 9mm on planets mostly. 8mm on the Moon. On very very good nights i will use 6mm on the Moon and i have even once managed to use 4mm on the Moon (that was a one off night so far since owning 4mm Omni).
