After seeing CC PST pic of the Sunspot

I thought I'd have a look at my 1st SS in white light.

I am using my ETX70 with solar film.

Based on the Zurich classification I think it is a G although it could be a C type.

I was quite happy as this is my 1st shot of a Sun spot.

The ETX & the 10mm Meade eyepiece arn't the best optically.

I may try with a barlow to enlarge the image network but I'm not sure that handheld afocal will work with this as the exposure time may be >1/60 sec.

Looks like an H on the Modified Zurich. It's unipolar and large enough to display penumbra.

I was going to ask where you got the number, but figured it out on my own. Actually, the sunspot number is AR 10953, or 953 for short.
