Longitude and Latitude

Does anyone know of any good sites that tell you the longitude and latitude of a place through the postcode? Ideally one that gives you or allows you to change N,S,E and W values.

google maps, zoom in, right click-whats here and it will give both latitude and longtitude then use this

to convert the answer to one that you can use with your synscan (assuming you use one)

Ok thanks. I think I have this right in my head now:

Positive Latitude is North.

Negative Lattitude is South.

Positive Longitude is East.

Negative Longitude is West.

But how would you put a neagtive value into the Synscan handset (I think you are already one step ahead of me m.tweedy.)

Another way is to simply hold the SHIFT key when moving the mouse over Google Maps - you get a little pop-up with LatLong values in it.

Strangely Metcheck takes the psot code and displays the Lat+Long. Think that it only uses the first part as in WC1, but something.

put in east or west (E or W)on the handset

This is the one I use - you can zoom in on the map and place the pointer on your drive within 6 feet and it gives you a read out in borh formats (degs/mm/ss or decimal)
