First nights viewing

Hi Everyone,

Well last night was my first real nights viewing, After repeated

attempts at 3 star alignment and consistantly being off quite

a bit I played with the daylight setting and she began to slew

straight to the requested star with only a touch needed for

adjustment.

I must admit when it started to go as it should have I felt like

shouting out accross the gardens I,ve done it, But to top that

you really had to have been here 1.30 am I had the nuts to

wake my wife to inquire whether she wanted to look at jupiter

and she did bless her.

I must admit looking at jupiter I became well emotional if that

makes sense to anyone, I would imagine sometimes its nice to

have someone there to share how you feel, i want many more nights

like last night god willing.

I know exactly what you mean, although I had done a bit imaging it wasn't until I viewed Jupiter only the other week through the eyepiece, which was my first oberving session, was I truly awe struck it was a great experience hopefully leading to many more!

Your poor wife, I can just imagine her traipsing down the stairs in her nighty, half a sleep and going outside into the cold to look at something in a telescope

Thats exactly how it was, but the funny thing is my wife has mentioned it a couple of times since so it must have an

impression on her also.

i no the feeling mate have done the same twice. and as you say with your 3 star alignment i no that feeling only sorted mine out last week, if you look in observing reports you can read my report. glad you had a good time mate

Regarding 3 star alignment Im happy with the 3 I choose, but do

you mix it up a bit or do you stay with the same 3.
