Just wondering if anyone has seen or even used one of these...

I used to have the Orion Steadypix, same thing really. Works with any digicam that has a standard tripod thread. I found they worked well but could be fiddly and frustrating.

OL

I have the Orion equivalent and I use it with both my fuji compact cameras.

The older camera has a maximum exposure of 2 seconds and I use it for double stars & moon.

The newer camera has 15 second maximimum and I use it for widefield brighter nebula.

I have an 8" scope. I hope this gives you an idea of what is acheiveable

Cheers

I just sold one :D

A bit fiddly to set up at first but I had some good results with mine.

I think others had better results as everyone has more patients than me :D

Interesting! Flicking through the camera manual tells me that mine's got a maximum exposure time of 15 seconds so I think this may be a purchase in the not too distant future....
