C/2009 P1 Garradd 2nd animation attempt

Hi, Spent yesterday evening (22-08-2011) taking a series of 2 min subs of Comet C/2009-P1 Garradd. Defeated by cloud just before midnight:(

Images on Canon DSLR @ iso 800 using an 8-inch f4 Imaging Newtonian. Individual images were stacked as layers in PS CS3 and the animation created in same.

Still frame using the image stack from the animation.

RogerTheDodger - thanks, Animations are great fun and frustrating at times - especially when you've got it all running and realise you've put all the individual images down in the reverse order and the comet runs backwards (not that I've ever done that!!! )

That's great - I was trying to photograph this myself last night but had MUCH worse results than you!

What's the timecourse of that animation, out of interest?

There were 26 or 27 frames in the animation. started 21-08-2011 at 22:20. Each frame lasted 2 mins with a 10 second gap between exposures
