Arzachel and Alpetragius craters C9.25

This is my last image from last night , I promise. I've actually got a couple more avi's but the seeing was very poor and I don't think they are worth posting, although this one turned out O.K. The smaller crater Alpetragius has a nice rounded central peak whilst Arzachel has a complex crater floor with rilles and valleys in the walls. C9.25 and toucam on a humble CG5 mount.

That is a very sharp image Dave. Each of those main craters appear to have domes in them. I know dome features exist on the moon. I am not certain certain about what caused them. Perhaps some outgassing at some time in the moons violent history.

Someone in the forum may be well read in seleneology, if that is the correct name for it. :D

That's a very nice image.

The thing that stands out to me is how sharp a few of those small craters look relative to the others, and how strong the lighting contrast is in them

Are they younger than the others?

Are they steeper sided?
