vegaandarctures
I have just come in from observing in my garden. It was raining to start with and then the clouds parted for me to see Saturn. So I pointed my scope at Saturn. I had my 20mm eyepiece inserted which gives me a power of x35. Saturn was a bit small so I inserted my 4mm eyepiece which gives me x175 and wow! The Rain must of cleared the air big time because Saturn looked incredible! I could see the Cassini division and some atmospheric detail! However the wind was shaking my scope about quite a bit but not too much but Saturn really is a beautiful object. So Don't be scared to use a higher power because it can handle it quite well. p.s my avatar photo is a picture I took of Saturn about a month ago. Ags
Nice! Saturn is hidden by towerblocks at my usual observing site, so I won't be seeing it again until next year. I'm impressed you saw the Cassini Division - I struggle to make it out with scope.

Telrad
That's wonderful vegaandarctures! It is a glorious sight.. I always make an excursion to Saturn when I can during a session.. Thanks for sharing! Well done!
stolenfeather
Saturn is a little low in the horizon when it comes out making my viewing time rather short. I love the picture you took of it! Like Telrad, I always stop by Saturn when the viewing is good. Isabelle
vegaandarctures
yes the Cassini Division is very difficult however i just managed to make it out. About 3 weeks ago at my local astro society i saw Saturn through a 12inch dob and it did look awesome. i saw about 5 of its moons as well!

Astro Imp
Well done mate. I think we all stop by Saturn when it's viewable. Next stop, Jupiter another wonder of the skies.
