How do you move your scope around the sky?

The title sounds a little stupid, but bear with me!

I have got into what I can only assume to be a REALLY bad habit. When I am moving my scope about on the mount with the manual clutches, I always find myself moving it holding onto the back of my focuser. I am sure that this is very wrong and I keep trying to stop it, but there just doesn't seem to be anything else so easy to hold!!

So, how do you move your scope?

never by the focuser,always by gripping the tube gently

Aha! That's the way to do it!

I use the slew controls on my handset then the Telrad

Sometimes by holding the dob mount and sometimes by holding the OTA.

I hold my knob.
