Adamski
Just seen the bbc news this morning and they say that scientists at the particle accelerator in France/Switzeland have created anti hydrogen and managed to store it for 16 minutes, the longest period before that was only 2/10 th of a second. Progress.

yesyes
That is something that has puzzled me...Can anti-Hydrogen only annihilate Hydrogen atoms? What if it comes into contact with, say, a Helium atom. Will it annihilate half of it leaving another Hydrogen atom?

focaldepth
Can anti-Hydrogen only annihilate Hydrogen atoms?I would like to know that as well. Also not sure what "coming into contact with" really means at that scale. In films often anti-hero can annihilate hero and anti-baddie can annihilate baddie but not the other way round. lukebl
Sorry for being a bit dim but what does it really all mean for the future, apart from the fact that we are closer to being able to annihilite the entire planet in one go? That doesn't seem to be much of an advancement!
