As an OTA only it would be worth buying as it's not bad at all optically. Unfortunately the supplied mount just isn't up to the job though.

The OTA's are similar to the Meade AR5 / Bresser 127L - possibly made in the same factory. This one does not have a collimatable objective cell like the Meade / Bresser do which, for me, would be a disadvantage.

that one on ebay has been on there for weeks and weeks, i think the £500 starting price is highly optimistic, i think i would be looking at an evostar 150mm in preference

I did think it looked similar to a Meade. £500 for an achromatic is beyond optimistic more like insane.

Agreed - my Meade AR6 was just £125 for the OTA
