Midnight Twilight Trails.

Recommended Posts

Canon 5DMkII

Canon 17-40mm L

45x40 seconds.

F7.1

ISO 1600

A few boat trails on the horizon too.

Was hoping to catch some aurora in this one but the twilight won.

About 30 minutes later the aurora was visible as a green glow on the horizon,i managed to get a few shots which also picked up a lovely purple

tinge to the sky but my lens started fogging up so i didnt get enough to make a decent star trail.Mind you i was quite happy with the individual shot.

There wil be plenty of twilight upon us soon. Excellent work Stewart. I've enjoyed this one. Your giving me ideas.. hmm.

Cheers Jim.i was realy pleased with this one,got a A2 print done.

The image quality of the 5D at higher ISO's is superb.

A workmate of mine has taken up photography after years away from it so he's asked me if i wouldnt mind showing him how to do star trails. He lives out in the country and has all this locations that he wants to visit way out in the middle of nowhere(my wife wont drive out into the sticks in the dark and i cant drive) so my head is full of ideas for the Autumn as well.;)
