North and South

I'm starting to think that it would be fantastic one day to be able to travel to the Southern hemisphere and take a scope with me, to see what I can see!

So I was wondering if any SGLers, from North or South, have popped over to the other half of the globe and have been very impressed by something up in the sky!

Maybe something that you can't normally see or image so well from your side of the world?!

Alpha Centuri, because of what it is, our closest neighbour. The Southern Cross and Jewel box, are what I've got most of a thrill out of seeing, and these were from 21 degrees North. I too can't wait to go South proper, and I most certainly will be taking a scope with me!
