I remember removing at least the four of the fixing screws. I’ll check and remove the rest if they’re still there. I have the TS 0,95x Komakorr. T-E recommended me this over the GPU. It’s strange because this adapter they sell is meant for the GPU and the Baader MPCC.

Hi all, Looking to get rid of tilt on my optical train (I'm pretty sure it comes from its connection to the focuser), I've thought about threading the coma corrector inside the draw tube using a M54 male to M48 female adapter (this or this). However, since it wouldn't let any rotation to frame the target, I've thought about introducing a camera rotator before the adapter (perhaps this one). It would end up being Draw_Tube -> Rotator -> M54_to_M48 + CC -> Extenders -> EFW -> Camera According to my calculations, there would be enough travel distance to reach focus. Any thoughts? Any possible drawbacks? Any similar setup out there? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I wonder what’s the real back focus distance for the mentioned coma corrector. According to their website, the “working distance” is 55mm from the stopping ring. However, I’ve read in several sites that this CC is the same as the Sharpstar MPCC 0.95x 2” but re-branded. The Sharpstar page states that the back focus distance is 56mm. Are they the same product or not? If so, who’s right? Thank you very much in advance.

I am interested too. Collimating my 130PDS is driving me crazy.

Have you tried StarnetV2 on PI? IMHO it performs far better than the original Starnet.

+1 for taking flat frames. On the other hand, I wouldn't bother in taking darks with a DSLR. There are several threads in this forum explaining why. Choosing an easier target, like the suggested M13, will make both capturing and processing easier and less frustrating. Good start and congrats!

Blink is the first process I run to discard subs with clouds, thick trails or overexposed. Then I move to Subframe Selector.

+1 for the guiding issue. You could plate solve the image and see in which axis the elongation is. RA axis = wrong sideral rate or backlash. DEC axis = bad PA.

A mono one: M101 in luminance, 1.5 hours of usable data captured last night. Yesterday I spent a few hours thoughtfully collimating the telescope. Now less astigmatism but still some residual coma (worst areas have been cropped). Tired of not having round stars in the corners, I've ordered a TS-Optics 0.95x Maxfield 3-Element coma corrector, advised by the folks of Teleskop-Express. We'll see if it works. Someday.

I’ve asked the guys of Teleskop-Express about the same dilema, and they recommended me the Maxfield over the GPU. Their arguments were the excessive length and the possible subsequent tilt effect of the latter. Any thoughts? @Space Oddities: have you tried the Maxfield?

I’ve never used the 130 for visual. For imaging, it will depend on the configuration used. If you can introduce the CC (no stop ring) then probably you won’t need to cut it. I did it though. Regarding the CC, I have the Baader MPCC MkIII and I’m far from being happy: never managed to get rounded stars in the corners. Perhaps I’m a bit picky. Or suffer from an incipient ODC. IIWY I’d spend some more money and go for the TS GPU. It seems it provides a full flat field (up to the corners!).
