  1. Luna Acromatico Skywatcher 120/1000 Asi 224 @ f/8 Original 650 frames Shapcap and Astrosurface An instrument that costs little and gives great satisfaction. it offers exciting images of large and medium star fields, of the major DSOs, of the Moon. Also usable profitably for DSO and Lunar imaging
  2. Hi, me and a friend expert in accessories, measures etc have found two solution to reach focus with SW 120ED, without cutting the tube and no OCS
  3. ZWO EAF on Baader Stelltrack BDSHD, on Takahashi Mewlon 180c. Hand Controller, Temperature sensor.
  4. Matera (ITA) First test (a draft) on the Moon in Day Light with Baby-Mu, ASI224 (@f12), and Astronomik ProPlanet IR 742 cuts. No motorization. few frames. SharpCap+Astrosurface
  5. this is short. a question. i have a SW 120 ED gold serie. if i change the original bib focuser with something like this, shorter low profile, i reach the focus with a maxbright II?
  6. The Baader Steeltrack BDS (SC/HD) for the Mewlon180c has arrived. I hope it solves the big problem of precision focusing at high magnifications and in critical situations (light mounts, excessive load, bad seeing, ...) For those interested, you need the BDS SC / HD model with the adapter that converts the Takahashi visual back to SC: Takahashi Code: TK-TSC00100. To further shorten the path, the Baader prism is fitted with its 2" nose code BA2408150.
  7. he say me that he have used and tryed 2.5 A fuse max 3.15A this is the story of one user that suggest 5A at minimum http://wlcastleman.com/equip/reviews/em11_tsa102/12Vpowerline.htm
  8. Hello everybody. I found a well maintained EM11 Temma2. The only problem that the person who sells it tells me is that the mount (a common fact the Takahashi said), he doesn't like to do large GOTO movements. In fact, if you do a very large goto, it easily burns the fuse present in the power cable with cigarette lighter socket for the battery. You can do it tells me short goto. Line up to the pole, line up with one star skysafari and move to a nearby object. if you need to go a long way, unplug the clutches and line up again with ONE STAR next to the new object and then goto for it. Some questions to understand if I am making the right purchase: 1) is true that all the Temma 2 have this problem? 2) is it a solvable problem? With what? 3) do these mounts only have a cigarette lighter socket? do not have a power supply for a normal wall socket at home? 4) can temma 2 be upgraded to a Temma 3 kit? thank you
  9. Hi, well done for all i want to buy a Baader BDS SC for my Mewlon and i want to motorize it. 1) Sesto Senso 2 must be connected to the micrometric wheel of the Baadser right? so you lose manual micrometric control of this 2) What happens to focus both by hand and with the sixth sense at the same time? is it necessary to "release" the control with the sixth sense which thus loses data and position? 3) The options for a manual controller of the Sesto Senso 2? onlu via virtual pad=? 4) is the ZWO EAF a best option? becase probably it attaches to the coarse knob on the left side of the baader leaving the macro and micro knobs on the left side free. plus it has an optional hand controller thanks
  10. Hi I have a Skywatcher 120ED old Gold serie. i want to use my Baader T2 prism (31,8), with a 2" Naso. this avoide the use of the reducer 2"/31.8 agining space. Do you know if i can go in focus with this setup? If no, and i need a OCS for MAXBRIGHT II, wich one? 1,7 x is good? there is the possibility to use one less in this situation? thanks
  11. Hi Can you suggest me please a good model of IR Pass for imaging moon and planets in the day (just with color camera like 224 et 178 for now)? with Mewlon 180c @ f712 or with Barlow 2x The Baader IR-Pass (31.8mm) da 685nm is a good choice? thanks
  12. Today i m again an happy guy like 35 years ago after 35 years, I finally put my eye back into what was my first telescope, made in japan: the 80s KONUS PERSEO. An indescribable emotion. A new "first light" of Konus Perseo. I tell you that it is amazing with excellent color correction and with beautiful sharp images ...
  13. tell me the options...ah, i know yet the stars 🙂
  14. But the one for 250 etc don t work for 180?
  15. PIPP VS PIPP 03.03.2021 Baby-Mu, ASI 224@ f12 seeing not good. PIPP (40% of frames), Autostakkert (30% of frames), Registax. Being neophyte of planetary imaging, I experiment independently, sometimes a bit at random, the various parameters and processes. Four different results for 4 processes of the samesource video that are similar in all but PIPP's Quality Options settings: "Default Quality Algorithm" vs "Original Ninox Quality Algorithm" vs "Peak Histogram Algorithm" vs "Total Brightness Algorithm". PIPP is setted for40% of total frames. After the 4 video are staked with Auto stakkert selecting the 30% of each PIPP result. Last process in Registax.
  16. I state that I am a beginner of the webcam era and planetary shots First experiments in planetary imaging and first personal considerations and discoveries, since not the time to read books and watch tutorials. I wanted to experience the effects of staking a progressively greater number of Frames starting from a shot of the moon taken with the Mewlon 180c and an ASi 224. I will shortly provide the link on my YT channel. The video is preliminarily treated with PIPP without activating the "Quality Options". The video thus created is processed with Registax. it has the function of selecting the best frames of the entire video, placing them in descending order of quality and allowing us to decide how many frames to store. The sum of more frames should lower the S / N and offer higher resolution. Reading various books and seeing some video tutorials on YT, I have seen that many recommend tout court average a value of frames around 70/80%. well, in my case I saw that this DEPENDS and that it is good to experiment with various options without taking it for granted. In fact, I made these videos, without motorization in the mount (eq5) with few seconds (2/5 s) recordings. Applying a conventional stak of 80% of the frames, I noticed that, in addition to reducing the usable range of the image due to the blur, the final resulting image acquired a diaphanous aspect. I then processed three different images with three different percentages of "Limit Setup" in registax, starting from the same previous video processed with PIPP, respectively 20%, 60%, 90% of the total frames. This is the result. Ultimately it is a double-edged sword to be weighed carefully, because the benefit of a best (but still limited) S/N collides with a greater weight of the problems introduced such as vibrations, movement, etc. Below the resulting images, and the registax Limit screens with the movements to compensate. i'm learning...any observation is appreciated, if i'm wrong
  17. Someone tested a Mewlon 180c on a vixen AP? just curiosity
  18. 25.02.2021 97% Full Moon Skywatcher 120ED Asicap on SAMSUNG J3 ASI224+ BArlow Televue 2x Registax of a single capter (1 image)
  19. I'm watching for a FOK, motorized, with macro and micro manual option, but also remotable. Changing at the original back accessories, i'm looking at Esatto 2". But there is an option jast for the Mirror Knob focuser, so without changing the original back train and mooving only the primary? thanks
