yes. greenish blue. And sometimes, rare, a red tint which i though was impossible to see but it is not.

could be a nice "pocket eyepiece". let's see...

This video show the different methods i use upgrading my 12" dobsonian reflector newtonian GSO springs, what you should looking for when you decide to upgrade them and the final springs i choose because of their quality and excellent job holding the primary mirror cell and collimation. Spot on with these stiffer springs. Cheers!

YESSSSS! I love it too and that's my purpose. I just upload astrophotos for people to see that it is possible to do nice things with a DOBSONIAN. I'm trying the live stack with many fails BUT yesterday i finally did it and i had a topic in CN and also here in stargazerslounge: https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/373961-finally-i-did-something-decent-in-eaa-ngc-2438-planetary-nebula-12-f5-gso-dobsonian/

YES! After a while with loads of fails each time i went with sharpcap live stack, today i finally managed to do something to start with. This is the beginning, the night i've live stacked something. It's been hard to figure live stack tricks, many things at the same time. This was my image. OMG this jumped in a few seconds. No boring processing waiting, just point, live stack and finally SEE something fast stacked. I also tooked a print screen hoping that you can help me to figure what i should change based on what you see. Please find it below and give me some hints for me to proceed. I've noted when playing with histogram that half of the screen was brighter than the other half, not uniform. with some more work you can do it. there is people that reset and repeat and then process. -

Thanks! -
Install the skysafari app. It's the best IMO.

Oh, that's planned Martin. You bet it. I want to share the Dobsonian aperture power to help to break the myth. Nice and steady. Cheers. -

Because it's hard to see. 11,2 mag. When i saw it i pause my observation and took the cam and laptop right away to frame this beauty. -

I too was surprised to see the detail. I will try with better conditions and more frames. -

Yes, my post processing is almost none. Sometimes i even prefer to leave it as it is. But many times i have to cut or low the amb glow and enhance just a bit the color, without adulterating it. That said, i didn't want to push to see better the orange filaments. I prefer, and planned, the next time i meet this nebula to just add more frames. Beeing mostly a visual guy has its influence, to not exceed and present an unicorn. -
🍬GEMINI NEBULA NGC 2371/2 - (ap. mag 11,2) This image confused astronomers when it was first studied — rather than being classified as a single object, it was instead recorded as two objects, owing to its symmetrical lobed structure (known as NGC 2371 and NGC 2372). These two lobes are visible to the lower left and upper right of the frame, and together form something known as a planetary nebula. (in:Nasa) To me it looks like a candy, to my wife like an eye and to many people like a peanut. At the end what matters is that you let flow your imagination while admiring this wonderful and complex structure. I've catched it last night at the middle of my visual observation session 🙂 12" f/5 GSO Dobsonian Geoptik Eartha Equatorial Platform ZWO ASI224MC Baader IR/UV cut L-filter Gain=550 Exposure=1s 800 frames 50 Darks 800 bias Processed in DSS+PS
