I also use sharpcap as my first choice software for everything i can and i also avoid using other software. However, some things have to be made outside sharpcap. Vlav suggestion is great and i use Pipp when i want to process planet images and it opens fast. I've never noticed that fps column on it until now. To check the fps during my sharpcap sessions i just look at the bottom of the monitor where sharpcap show the fps but indeed the PIPP idea is good if one wants to check it later. May be Robin want to add that to the .txt file. He usually do those simple updates when people ask and he think worth to do.

I just wish that APM 2" fast lock (which until now was the best i could find in 2" centering precision) could became more popular so Markus could provide different measures for it. It became permanent on my focuser.

Well, i'm sure 99% of SGL'ers know this specially in a forum with so many optical experts. Either way, i've wanted to demonstrate it on video for any beginner having difficulties to do it. It's a simple video that show 2 easy ways to make your eyepieces and cameras parfocal. This action takes you to an upgrade on comfort during your visual observations or Astrophotography / EAA sessions because the eyepieces and cameras will be always on focus (or almost there) when you change them in your telescope focuser. In this demonstration i use parfocal rings and spacers which are inexpensive products you can buy on Amazon or any astro shop all over the world. Have a nice week-end! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wH1edGdL-9s

All steps to install a Skywatcher motor focus / AccuFocus in an Omegon / Antares low profile dual speed focuser to newtonians / reflectors. Although this focuser model is a bit different from others it's simple to install the automatic focuser motor in it with just some different details on the installation procedure. A conclusion about this mod / upgrade was made at the end of the video. Have a nice week-end!

Thanks for the feedback. According to Pipp they should help improvement. Once i made simulations and seemed to help so i use it. Not being totally confident about but the stacking time seems not bother me as i usually stack and go dinner or so. I also noticed the AS analysis graph disappeared may be because i return later for the results, i don't know. Quality Weighting This is an experimental function that aims to increase the weight of the best quality frames in the final stack. This is actually a very simple procedure that can provide an improvement to some stacked images. All this function does is duplicate the best 25% of the frames twice and duplicate the next best 25% of the frames once. This means that a 1000 frame stack becomes a 1750 frame stack. There is no noise reduction advantage to this but the best quality frames do have more influence in the final stacked image.

All the steps i do to capture and process Saturn opposition from the beginning to the end. Since capturing with Sharpcap, centering with Pipp, stacking with AutoStakkert, enhancing with Registax and fine tuning with Photoshop express, this live action video has the purpose to help people that tried and fail because of the multiple software used on the astrophotography process. All the 5 steps are thoroughly and quietly explained without complications. It's not the perfect method but the simpler and easier i can do to obtain a wonderful image of this precious planet. Have a nice weekend!

Yeah i think the eyepatch need also an adaptation to the use. Mine is satin made so very gentle and there are people that use rigid ones, which don't mess with the eye. There are loads of them available also because of health eyes issues/corrections. The pillow / hoodie is the one i like most, and the glasses to go inside house. The pillow gets me totally "inside" the eyepiece, no distraccions.

I've added this update to the video description: Note: the telescope wobbling that may be noticed in this video was due to my mistake placing the platform without inserting the 2 threads the platform "Y" top has, to fit on the 2 platform top holes, resulting in set up instability. I've notice that later but decided not to record another video. Since then i've been cautious not to repeat that mistake in all the videos i record which show the telescope properly balanced.
