  1. I love the star trails shot (actually I love both) but especially the intro when panning out from the dish with the music choice, just like it should belong in a movie. Thank you for all your dedication and hard work that you make look so effortless Paul. It's a beautiful location and your blessed with amazingly clear skies in the east of England. Lee
  2. I'm pleased it is working for you now too. Took some trawling through to find a workaround. Lee
  3. I'm not sure where the 127.0.0.1 ip address comes from (it maybe an address from synscan? I can't quite remember now but I will) but I found it on the other site and works. I've tried my own ip address and like you doesn't work, so I just use 127.0.0.1 now. I found this on sgl relating to the 127.0.0.1 ip address. Over halfway down the thread is an explanation. https://stargazerslounge.com/topic/326590-the-£5-wifi-adapter/#:~:text=January 23%2C 2019-,127.0.,means the device running skysafari. It's great something seems to be working now. Maybe just keep your screen alive and not let it sleep and all should be ok. Let us know how you get on when the skies ever clear again. Lee
  4. @Orange Smartie on another search this cropped up. 'Turn off Suspend Execution of Cached Apps in developer settings. Apps don't seem to be able to handle it. I did that, and immediately stopped losing apps that I hadn't checked for a minute or so.' Not sure if this'll help you. I did also see a don't kill my apps app on Google play store, not sure how that works though. Lee
  5. I had a mooch about and seems it's a common issue that pixels and phones running Android 12 and above kill apps running in the background. I did see this if it helps? Under Developer Options under "Standby apps" you can manually set the app as "ACTIVE." To get developer options on your phone this video shows how. Worth a try. Another possibility is to see if anyone has an old phone running Android 10 to buy cheaply and use that for your mount and apps alone. Lee
  6. Hi What device are you using? Is there a way of keeping the synscan app running in the background? Also is the 'keep screen on' slider on in synscan pro in settings-user interface - keep screen on. Have you tried the set up with Stellarium on your device? Lee
  7. No problems, always willing to help on this great little mount. I think the issue of it disconnecting, could be in the battery saver mode setting. If you just make sure you're out of battery saver mode, press battery in settings, then app launch and make sure your synscan and sky safari apps have all the boxes checked to keep running in background , should be ok. I expect if you flip back to the synscan app using the square icon on android devices, after the mount says disconnected in sky safari that the synscan app would be saying goto pc target or something similar. The issue is because synscan isn't running in the background properly so sky safari can't see it. Also in stellarium my settings are the same. Lee
  8. Once I've performed the alignment routine in synscan be it North level or 1 star. I switch to sky safari. Say I've Jupiter in my fov in the ep, I can press align in sky safari and it'll place the crosshairs over Jupiter. Then all ok. I've always done the main alignment routine in synscan first. Seems to work for me. Lee
  9. I use sky safari pro 6 with my AzGti. I load up synscan first do an alignment via synscan. Then connect sky safari by pressing scope and connect. Sky safari then gets all the information it needs from the synscan alignment routine. The settings are as shown in my screenshots. Synscan has to stay awake when your using sky safari. By going into app launch on your phone settings and press manage manually on synscan and sky safari, making sure all the check boxes are checked and app runs in background. I use this with my p30 lite in android 10 and p20 lite. Lee
  10. Stunning images, especially the first one with an ethereal quality. 😍 Thank you for the met check link too 👍 Lee
  11. Thank you Paul. I am still enjoying using the samyang 14mm when I can, it's my most used lens now and my best dslr buy. Clear skies for the core season too and looking forward to seeing your images and vlogs. Lee
  12. Thank you Paul for another wonderful trip out on your vlog. All the images are amazing but I especially like the boat shot with Orion and the wind pump centred with the night sky, simply brilliant. I'm looking forward to milky-way core season soon, I'm anticipaing around very early April to start to try a pano arch image again. Though last year was up until end of May here. Will try flats this time (when I've perfected how to take them with this lens) to hopefully avoid join marks when stitching because of the vignette of the samyang 14mm f2.8. Thank you again for a wonderful vlog and teaching us how to get even better and more natural ways Widefield astrophotography Lee
  13. It's an outstanding image Paul, you say it's not your best image but it's much better than I could get in 3 hours. I'd still be faffing about after an hour. Hope you're all well, take care Lee
  14. Hi Mike Good luck with the resin printing of the gears you need. Like you say I expect them not being greased from factory attributed to the downfall of them. If your gears are sound and work and kept well greased it might work. Keep us posted. Lee
  15. I regret selling my skymax 127 and star adventurer 2i but needed the money at the time. ☹️ I used to have a skywatcher 150p on eq3-2 mount but font regret selling that as much as the previously mentioned items. Lee
  16. Hi Mike. I've had a trawl through the Internet and found this on our forum Then this on the other site. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/824496-az-gti-planetary-gearbox-replacement/ I'm afraid it doesn't bode well, still contact RVO and flo and see what they say though. You maybe able to get new motor units for it? Let us know how you get on. Cheers Lee
  17. This seems very strange indeed that both motors are showing the same play on the motor shaft. I'll do some more investigation. I've just looked through Harrison telescopes website and the warranty is valid for 12 months so it'll be out of warranty anyway. Let us know if you hear anything back from them with any advice they give for your issue. I am wondering if these screws are anything to do with your issue? Lee
  18. Hmm, this is strange. Where did you buy the AzGti from, they maybe able to offer some advice, even if the warranty has expired. Have you backed off the 3 cross head screws and retightened them and still have the movement? Lee
  19. Rechargeable batteries are only 1.2v each and normal batteries are 1.5v so that's where your issue is as Alex says. Talentcell battery packs are relatively cheap the one I have is £51 and powers my AzGti faultlessly and gas done for many years and last very well. Worth considering as you've a great scope and mount. Lee
  20. Hi Mike No problems. I look forward to your video. Do you mean the worm gear isn't connecting with the round gear very well. Sometimes you can adjust the tension on the spring loading. I have in the past 'disengaged' the use of the spring by undoing then pushing the worm and gear to mesh the worm and gear together with no movement on the spring. Just throwing some ideas out there 😊. Lee
  21. I realised I had my Adm dovetail clamp still on my disassembled and unused AzGti eq imaging that's being stored away. Thought it was a waste, so I've put it on my second AzGti mount for my observing work. I will have to make the DIY food lid cover to go over the workings still showing but never having one on my other AzGti mount it's never rusted or affected it. So a job got another day. Lee
  22. Hi Sorry to hear of your trouble with this great little mount. Do you mean you have mechanical backlash in the motor as my video shows? I had this issue. I used this thread on the other site to remove it from my mount. https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/668785-adjusting-backlash-on-skywatcher-az-gti-mount/ Lee Dec motor before.mp4
  23. You could possibly use PIPP software first if the object is moving about to much to centre each frame then transfer to autostakkert to stack the image for you. Lee
  24. No problems. It's pretty easy access to the Moor from all around and most villages around have good dark skies. Maybe worth a trip down sometime to have a mooch around and see what you think 😊. Lanson isn't bad, it is a town with a retail park and a few big stores, but possibilities around the outskirts of it. Villages are your best bet around Bodmin Moor. Look forward to hearing more on your potential move in the future. Lee
