  1. Captured this widefield image of M16 & M17 AKA the Eagle and Omega Nebula's. 40 x 90 secs with my ZWO ASI533 cmos camera + L-Enhance filter on the Samyang 135mm lens at f2.4 Taken from Bottle 5.5 garden in UK No Darks, No Flats With and without stars take your pick. Lee
  2. so did you order direct, or from Starfield optics? Lee
  3. well thats interesting, gain 252 definitely looks much better. Great test
  4. No nothing to do with FLO, ZWO posted specs then later changed them but only recently sent the new specs out.
  5. Yes that’s how I see it, I’ve asked on a thread but no real explanation
  6. I have a revolut card so dont pay exchange charges for any currency so I get a figure of £426 for the Uranus , but thats only if we got charged, I dont think thats certain, so could be only £347. my friend buys camera lenses direct and usually doesn't get charged. depends what they put on the box I think. its getting quite expesve for a planetary camera, makes the zwo one look cheap when it was on sale last week for £359 though now back to 399 is still cheaper. Lee
  7. I was going to but the prices are much more than it would be to [ay VAT and duty when buying direct. I think they are partnered with company in Canada so you pay in uk then they get Canada to send them over. not really a uk dealer in my mind as they dont keep stock. just seems pointless. Lee
  8. so has anyone bought a player one camera direct, and if so did they get stung for duty and vat on arrival?
  9. Thanks Neil but I dont think its at your standard with the 10" newt, I have an ADC arriving today so hoping that will give me a little more sharpness.
  10. Jupiter from 04-09-22 at 00:34 UTC Here is one of the single 2 min captures with just wavelets in Registax, then the final processed derotated stack of 5 x 2 mins , all using the best 40% of about 5000 frames per capture. Captured with my Meade 12" LX200GPS at f25 using the 2.5x barlow + Altair GPcam224C & UV/IR cut filter. Stacked in AS3 , wavelets in Registax final processing in photoshop. Lee
  11. Great image as usual Neil, I actually found the low transparency was improving the seeing here in kent, was like a thin clag in the air, but the image was really stable, though had to turn the gain up a bit. I see you have been doing some images with the 7.3CC but didn't read why you were using that when you have this 10" newt which produces better images, sorry if that sounds like silly question, I haven't had time to read through every post so probably missed the reason? Also I need to upgrade my USB2 224c camera as its lack of speed is limiting how many frames I can capture. I have the choice of a 462 like you are using or pay a bit more for the new 662. Any thoughts on that would be greatly appreciated. Im mainly concerned with reports that the 462 has poorer colour saturation due to the different colour filters on the bayer matrix compared to the 224 and 662, presumably the did that for the increased IR sensitivity. but it doesn't appear to be an issue in your images? Many thanks Lee
  12. So do you think the ZWO models kicking in at 252 are best a avoided? Or have they done that for a reason that we aren’t aware of yet? Lee
  13. They just got back to me saying i was correct and they have now gone in and recalculated everywhere. But i just had a look and both cams are still showing the same price lol.
  14. They have replied saying they will check the prices. it’s the Uranus C that seems wrong price to me, as it should be cheaper than the Saturn.
  15. If anyone on here has bought direct how long did delivery take and did they have to pay Duty & VAT on arival? I presume that would add 22.5%? Lee
  16. Yes ive just asked starfield the same question,
  17. Here is a close up of the Crescent Nebula that I captured at the same time as my wide field image with my other camera. Meade 127mm F7.5 triplet refractor Atik 460EX mono CCD Baader Ha and Oiii filters 15 x 600 secs in Ha + 6 x 900 secs in Oiii No calibration frames Guided, Captured, Stacked and Stretched in MaximDL, Processed in Photoshop & Stars removed in Starnett ++ V2.
  18. First image in a couple of months as the Heat Wave made me lethargic. Widefield section of Cygnus centred on the Cresent Nebula & first light of my new Optolong L Enhance filter that I purchased used several months ago. To compare to my existing Altair TriBand filter, they are very similar but this pics up the Oiii parts better due to a slighlty narrower passband. Samyang 135mm f2 lens set to f2.4 ZWO ASI533 OSC cmos camera Optolong L Enhance filter 35 x 180 sec exposures with no calibration frames Guided, Captured, Stacked and Stretched in MaximDL, Processed in Photoshop & Stars removed in Starnett ++ V2.
  19. Nice first light images, have you taken any more since then. have you any previous Oiii filters to compare the new 4.5nm too, I currently have Baader 8.5nm Oiii and try to decide which narrower filter to upgrade too. Cheers Lee
