    It was amazing, lovely to see. I've only seen two total solar eclipses in my life so far. Hopefully not the last. A while ago now. 1999 and 2006. I'm hoping to manage 2026 and 2027.

    I certainly have to use longer exposures when taking solar images in the winter when the sun is low on the horizon at latitude 51° compared to the summer.

    No not tent's (sorry about my humour) but interestingly you can buy tent's for observations when camping.

    Dome is a complete housing where a shutter reveals the sky, the dome rotates. Roll of roof is a shed where the roof rolls back giving an almost complete view of the sky.

    Hi, you can get telescope covers for outside but I think people also use some kind of low level heating. Mine are in a roll of roof shed and a dome so outside all the time.
