Wow, these are some amazing solar images on this thread, among my favourites are those of @Marke998 which show the sun in a colour tone I can only describe as white hot. My Image is a first attempt with my new Lunt60 and the wrong camera for solar (Neximage5) and no knowledge of solar processing (can button mash like a pro) but I'll soon have a proper mono cam. If by chance judging night happens to fall on drinking night for our judges and I win this competition I will send out autographed copies to everyone! 😂

I have no experience with overseas shipping but I have been to their showroom less than an hour drive from me and spoke to Steve (owner of ontario telescope) on many occasions, he also owns Starfield telescopes.

It's a wonderful wide field of fuzzies!

While looking through a local and very busy thrift shop I ran into this Skywatcher short tube 80, upon inspecting it and setting it up properly for them I came to the conclusion that although the tube was in great condition the mount was abysmal. It was as though someone had stepped on it, nothing would tighten properly, both axis would wobble and the slack on both was horrible even when knobs were tightened. It seems the greese was totally worn off and turning either axis slomo controls resulted in jams, creaks, jumps and wobbles. At $200 CAD i could not let this sell to an unsuspecting parent and child, upon speaking to the manager I kindly explained the issue and he was more than happy to pull it off the floor especially as all sales are final. He did ask if anything is worth keeping and I explained the OTA seemed to be great, surely someone else with a bit of knowledge on the subject of astronomy would know what they want to use it for so he decided to sell it separately. Thrift stores depend on donations, I am aware of this but I felt I was saving someone from heartbreak when they realized they dropped $200 On a dud, and a poor child left deflated.

A beautiful image, there's something so special about multiple galaxies in one frame.

Not going to happen anytime soon, I wouldn’t worry, 90 percent of grand technological endeavors fizzle out when the real costs and challenges come to light.

Nothing to be disappointed about here, I would be well stoked if it were mine.

Wow what an amazing lineup of refractors! I must admit, from an esthetic POV it’s the Vixen that catches my eye the most. I’m blown away at how close it is in size to the 128 yet it’s a 102, I feel it would give my 102 some stiff competition based on it’s appearance, alone.

Welcome to SGL! though I am not familiar with the Pentaz 105, If it performs like anything else Pentax makes then I guess you have a real gem of a telescope.

Flock it, I think I’m going to do that, too!.

Head over to @jetstream’s, pretty sure he’s got a 120 he doesn’t want. You’re both in Canada so he’ll be just round the corner 😁
Im sure if he does I’ll be the first to know, speak to him by text regularly and yes, he’s within the same province and a short 17hr drive down the street 😅
