  1. Nice project and progress.
I look forward to following this.
Would love an observatory one day, but house building works stop this for now.
    Good luck with your build.

Glad to see it was not only me toiling away under the sun over the weekend.

  2. Dear SGLers, please stop this right now!

How one of our members chooses to mount his fine scope, that is his or her choice.
If the type of mounting, type, colour or number offends, oh well.......we are all different are we not.
If someone has an opinion that they wish to very much MOUNT the very expensive scope they have bought and they express the opinion that the standard equipment is not up to the job, so be it, its a personal choice.
This escalating post situation, has gone beyond me and any agreement I may have had from an engineers background.

Put a stop to this right NOW, all of you - Play nice, be nice.

    Woohoo!!!!!

Look what arrived just now. My Lunt 8x32 WL Solar Bins. Mark@beaufort (whom I bought them from) was not telling fibs when he said they are as new. These bins look like I've just gone to a shop and bought them. There isn't even a scratch on the box.

Sun's out, so time to go see what these puppies can do.

Full report later in the review section.

Nice, Alan. I've never tried any of the Pentax EP's, but understand they are as good as Vixen SLV's only over a bigger 70 degrees ....sounds fun :)

Far nicer in my opinion, better build quality, more comfortable and as you say wider by 20 degrees.
I have gone Japanese with Vixen LVW, Pentax and some Televue made in Japan.
Some Chinese, but that's now going due to eye relief and my changing eyes!

    My mini-PC from China:

    Diskless, i5, 8GB RAM, 240G SSD, Win10 Pro, 2.4/5GHz wifi, 1G LAN, lots of USB.... £250 delivered!

Updating windows as I'm typing. Then I'll get remote desktop working.

Install my astro. apps and then use it remotely for scope/imaging/control.

    Very chuffed ?

Now that's a Mini PC!  Tee Hee.

In all seriousness, really, that's a fully functional PC?  Wow, these things are small.

  6. Post person Pat or Patricia has been and left a fine addition to my eyepiece case.

    ? ? Very Happy Bunny ? ?

Just wish I had not sold the 10mm to a fellow SGLer.

Of course it has arrived with a sky full of clouds after last night being clear but wobbly.

Today I received a set of binoviewers. Now I only need some clear sky to see if I can get them to work. Be prepared for questions folks.

OH, very nice purchase, they should be a fine addition.
What is the scope or scopes they are to be used with from your collection?

Flipping heck. you really like the Primaluce kit don't you! What's the logic behind having 4 if you don't mind me asking? You have a DL, on a Skytee so I'm guessing it's not flexure for imaging you're concerned with?

I knew Richard was going to rather strongly mount that Tak; but wowzer!
    How heavy is that Tak??
Shame its hanging on the top mount of a Skytee 2,
I would not hang a scope of that cost on one, I know others do, but.....

  9. Well, the good post person visited today and delivered a new family member, brand new and boxed.
Nice and far lighter than I expected although I had the specification and read 25585's write up about his version.
This is the second 2" eyepiece I have ever owned, had the 28mm Sky-Watcher with my ED100, thought that was big,
but no this is a little bigger and very nice build quality.
I even like the eye lens cover (cup) 25585!

Here it is with the rest of the family,
some further additions may be added as funds and availability allows.
