Post person attended this morning with a padded envelope.
I have purchased a highly recommended accessory for my Vixen ED103s.
Thanks for this to Dave @F15Rules- 1

The one big regret I have is selling my GP2 mount, it was so well made.
It now belongs to another here on SGL.
As to Mikes OCD, I must point out the white counterweights sets off that white Tak rather well.
I still regret the day I sold this, really do, it would have sat with my ED103s so well.

'Dad time' is rather more special than astro time in my opinion,
so time well spent Kev.
I am at the opposite end of the uni journey, just started year 1.- 1

Progress continues, nice job so far.
Feeds my want monster each time I look though.

Well after your paint mishap things are looking better.
Note you have twins, something we have in common, we have identical girls.
This observatory is looking smarter by the minute, you must be pleased with how it’s looking.

Nice woodwork Kev, wish I was as capable.
My woodwork teacher at school suggested I should be kept from things wooden.- 2

I was starting to wonder if there was a national shortage of OSB or something
James
No, just in Wiveliscombe-ish! and that has now ended too.

I'm hoping this is my final setup.
Avtar
Avtar, if I had a pound for each time someone says that, I could buy number of decent eye pieces.

Kev
The weather is holding many of us up now, cannot moan though its been so good for so long.
I was in the garden digging yesterday in a tee shirt and felt too warm, so cannot complain.Digging for a long hedge to screen some lights that still shine in from next door over my observing pad.

That colour looks nice Kev.
The roof is all coming together well too.

James, wow my man, that really looks stunning.
I had wondered how it would start to come together, wonder no more.
So what roofing are you now going for?
or are you sticking with rubber on wood? -

From Paul (@Tiki), by way of Steve (@Saganite) and Alan (@Alan White), this little gem has made its way to me. All true gents, whom I hope to meet in person some day, and who have taken great care to help make this happen. My thanks, appreciation and best wishes to them.
Now, hopefully, for a clear night to see what I've got...
All I can say is that being part of the journey was great and thank you.
A very fine optic indeed and on my wanted list.

I got some bolts and washers today, pln to slightly raise the OOUK dob base by 4mm for better ground clearance.
Those in the know, will appreciate the valuable 4mm gained. -
Simon,
What I was 'seeking' was your opinion and findings as an owner.
Thanks for the web link though.
I have looked at that very website many times lusting after an AYO II.
The Vamo just looks small in all its images to me, but then again at 7 Kg rating, that is a fair load.
Sadly the long delivery on AYO has stopped me buying any to date.
-
Looks most interesting,
is the Vamo more sturdy than it looks? -
An interesting indicator experiment Kev.
But as Wim says, what was the temp at the back of the board and was the sample too small?
I would stick with the existing colour and accent the edges with something else myself,
but then again it's not my observatory or garden and I don't have to look at it everyday. -
Looking great whatever the colour Kev, you are doing great.
I like the greens myself. -

At first glance, I registered a Snow Ball and was impressed it survived the post.
Now I have read the wording, very nice indeed and Happy Birthday in advance.- 2

Look forward to seeing the build come along, clearly you have fine woodworking skills Francis.
I however do not, I just butcher it.
So as Stu says above, watch with interest.
