Finally, managed to grab a few hours observing between cloud belts! Great to see some old friends again (M81 & 82, M42, M36, 37 &38, along with Venus, Mars and the moon!)
Only wish it could have lasted longer, but it was better than the zilch that I've had for the last two weeks!

British weather sucks! It's official!

Got a very nice (but brief due to cloud) view through my Maxvision 68 20mm EP in my new Skywatcher Explorer 200P-DS reflector of the moon last night. Hoping for good things from this scope! Fingers crossed!

fantastic Gus ,I'm glad you like it, I think toget the most outa the sky a newt is a must, ive had quite a few over the years, my biggist was 24inch back in the 80s, but fantastic to view through it was a pain to transport, I retired it in the late 80s because of needing re silvering and I couldn't sell a kidney, ive still got the mirror and secondry and otheir bits in the loft. I look forward to hearing when you have a night of clear with good seeing. charl.

Getting a second hand Skywatcher 200PDS scope next Wednesday when I go down to collect it. Does second hand equipment incurr a cloud penalty at all? Hehe!
-
Was lazy last night before diner was ready (had limited time too) and viewed Venus through the double glazing in the dining room. Got a pretty good view too, and much warmer than outside! Hehe!
-
Good to get out again after a cold. Saw Tegmine & Eskimo nebula, among other targets in Auriga & Gemini. Nice session if chilly still!
-
Darn it! Nice clear skies outside, and I'm full of cold! Grrrrrr......?
-
Lunt wedge & an az4 mount nabbed off Shane & Jules for a late Christmas prezzy to oneself! Hehe!
-
Refractoritis strikes again! Hehe!
-
Woohoo! Get to check out a 80ed DS-Pro 'frac tomorrow at a great price. Nice birthday gift to oneself methinks! Hehe!

Ordered up some parfocal rings for my EP's. Hoping they make viewing much easier when switching EPs and having to refocus. Fingers crossed!
-
Chilly night out there, but through intermittent clouds M42, M81 & M82 were very nice. Even nabbed the Eskimo nebula in Gemini despite the moon nearby. Now time to warm up & get some sleep!

Had a quick look through the new Televue 10mm Delos I got off Marki last night. Even with the moon out and clouds too it looks looks it will give great views!
-
Sky wasn't great, but still managed to see Neptune pretty well by pushing the magnification up to 214x with the Powermate.
-
Another fun night with the Goto mount, with my Starwave 102mm f11 'frac attached for some great views!
-
Just had so much fun outside observing, anyone would think I'm not at work in the morning! Yikes!
-
Even though the skies were cruddy, I just managed to bag the blue snowball planetary nebula! Happy bunny!
-
Hoping for more clear skies tonight, but looks like it might be 50/50 either way!
-
Collect a great second hand Az Goto mount on Friday from Dobbie. Can't wait to use it, so hoping that o get some clear skies for the weekend! Fingers crossed!
-
My new Altair Astro 102mm f11 frac arrived back home today after going back for the new focuser refit. So now I just need those clear skies to test it out tonight on Saturn & Mars!
-
DHL managed to destroy the focuser on my new scope. Obviously been playing rugby with the damn thing. Hope it doesn't take too long for the supplier to get a new one sent out. Grrrrrr.......????
-
oh mate, im gutted for you, hope thay sort it out soon, darn DHL,guess the mountain was too high for them. ive often had deliverys fom them and know when there outside my house by the banging coming from there van as thay chuck stuff around, thay should get fined when stuff get broke because thay clearly dont give a dam about our goods. charl.
