  1. No problem, thanks for clearing this up for me
  2. This is from the sgp forum and it's by one of the revs and it seems to say the opposite of symmetal. This is why I'm confused With the native you can set gan and offset per event within SGP. With ascom you cannot. Essentially just more control over the gain and offset with the native. But if ascom is working just fine then no real reason to change either.
  3. Oh and sorry I must be going senile, forgot I had already posted that other thread!
  4. From what I read it was the other way round, that was why I asked,I'm sure I read that the offset cannot be set in the ascom driver and that was why there is a specific ZWO camera selection to allow this to be set per filter
  5. Hi Just wanted to confirm these settings set the ASI 1600 to Gain300 Offset50 - I mean do these settings and the camera selected set the camera to these settings? Just reading about which driver to select that allows SGPro to set the Gain/Offset that all....
  6. They are dead easy to make but the bit I find tricky to impossible is making a DIY bracket! Wish I knew somebody who could make an adjustable one for me.
  7. Cant bring myself to pay the money for these commercial robo focusers - it costs about £6 to but a stepper, controller and Arduino and install the free Ascom compatible software. The only tricky thing is mounting it to the focuser as my DIY skills are non-existant!
  8. Yep I did the same, although if the mount is brand new I would not be expecting to do this myself so I would send it back for replacement
  9. Are there any images with this scope yet? Thinking of getting one and using my old 1000d as an imaging setup when I’m t my static caravan
  10. Hmmm.... not being a programmer that might be a challenge but will see what I can do!
  11. I have just purchased a L293D Adafruit stepper controller (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/L293D-Adafruit-Compatible-Motor-Control-Shield-Motor-Driver-for-Arduino-CHIP-27/222012365564?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) and NEMA17 stepper with a planetary drive/gear in it (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Extruder-Gear-Stepper-Motor-Ratio-3-7-1-Planetary-Gearbox-Nema-17-Step-Motor-New/282174288111?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649) Will the above work with your focuser or will I need to make some changes to the sketch?
  12. Woo Hoo!!!! Just got mine all connected and it worked first time! Got this adapter from fleabay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/381004685532?_trksid=p2059210.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT Set it to DTE(saves the need for a null modem) and changed baud rate to 9600 and away it went!!!!
