  1. It does not even complete once, just keeps solving. I had thought there would be a timeout after x mins box I was missing
  2. Thats what I have set but it never fails over - PlateSolve2 (the primary solver) just keeps trying forever to solve.
  3. I don't see a see a setting other than a check box to enable failover but it never fails over. I am concerned the scope never knew where it was but the plate solve should have sorted that if it worked, it the blind should have if it failed over to it.
  4. How do I get SGPro to failover to the blind solver? I have a local copy of the blind solver running and I can right click an image in SGPro and select plate solve, then select blind solver and it works (mostly, see my next question!) but when running a sequence and getting it to solve the image in the sequence plate solve 2 just sits there solving until I eventually loose patience and cancel it - it never fails over, is there a time setting for Plate Solve2 I need to adjust to tell SGPro to failover to blond solving? Next thing, tonight it wold not solve, or rather it did solve when I went to Deneb, my scope had the star in the frame and it solved it fine. I then did a goto to M27 and the scope flipped and did not put M27 in the frame. This was when Plate Solve2 failed completely to solve the image BUT...… Even when trying to manually solve and selecting Blind Solve, it also failed - I don't know why, fair enough my star was not in the frame but why the blind solve failed I don't know.
  5. Some progress, looks like I got a bit of data but I think I need to build a proper antenna
  6. I have one on mine - I mounted it to a long dovetail though rather than the scope. Have you considered the ZWO focuser? I got one of them for my newt and it fits on my focuser no problem
  7. So.… I don't have a proper homemade antenna but am using the supplied antennas in a V shape as per the plans for the home made antenna. I also have a low noise amp inline and with only a couple of DB Gain on the RTL dongle my noise floor is around 60Db. The antenna is facing North. I have tuned to 137.1 Hhz for the next pass and have everything waiting to go.... FIngers crossed!
  8. whats PM prime service? Afraid I don't have any way of raising the height of the antenna, just starting out so don't have a pole or anything to mount it on
  9. Todays pass on 137.1Mhz and nada! This is with the LNA amp up and running and the antenna outside lying flat on a table pointed north in the V shape, I cant see what Im doing wrong unless I need to have a different antenna or something is wrong with my location in WXtoIMG?
  10. Yeah you can download the weather satellites transmissions and decode them - well some people can, I'm not having any luck!
  11. I don't seem to be having much joy at all - will keep persevering
  12. Very nice! What antenna/setup do you have? And is there a way to know if its going to be a good pass or not in advance or is it luck?
  13. Ah, ok, see what you mean! That's the setup I have. Put the supplied dipole into a v shape and have it pointing north lying flat on a garden table outside the van with the LNA close to the antenna. Is ther eother software or anything I should use?
  14. Hmm.... the online tutorial said to have bandwidth at about 36Khz
  15. Had a cunning plan..... went to the car and tuned to that frequency - just seemed to go quiet with no audio, same as the SDR. Im now recording a weather sat pass - how does this look, any tips from anybody?
  16. Hi, I just received my RTL-SDR dongle and had it picking up local FM stations at home, Im now up north at my caravan, have stuck the aerial outside and picked up a strong signal on 98.3, which I assume is an FM station..... I click WFM but don't hear anything but noise, am I doing something wrong or is it faulty, or is there genuinely no station there!
  17. No I deleted then all and do the same as you
  18. I use sgpro so I'm not using a planetarium software for goto, I select a target in Sgpro. I thought when you clicked set it sorted the pc clock? Anyway the pc clock is pretty much accurate, maybe put by a few seconds but not enough to throw it this far off. Will have a double check next time I'm out and see if I can see anything else
  19. Hmmm that's what I thought but the last few times I got a gps location (and I co firmee the time and date and location were accurate) when I clicked accept then did a goto it went way, miles off target.
