Hope you had longer observing time than the rest of us Steve. Apart from the proms which Peter referred to in the original post - two of the brightest I’ve seen for a long time - there were a couple of huge (but fairly faint) pillar prominences on the other limb.
I got about 1/2 hour once I got set up and it was wort it.

I use the Flo one.
I am an imager as well as an occasional visual and it makes a huge difference for me esp. in the recent furnace like conditions.

Thanks Ken.
I do hope so.
The WL I captured ended up on the cutting floor 🌞

Thanks John I have a a question in about that very scope.
Not that I am adverse to trimming down scope tubes, my record is 10 mins after delivery one was in the workshop having a trim.

Looking to get another scope for my wedge.
My WO132 works fine as it is designed to be used with bino viewers, but at the present it has the CCD on it and I don't really fancy fiddling about swaping over.
Anybody got a clue on a scope of around 120 -130 mm that would do the job without going under the knife?

Thanks Jeremy.

and lots of sun cream.
Hope you are enjoying the new kit.

I hope I don't get drummed out of the imaging band for this..
Had another go tonight with the FS 60 at a much more comfortable position and yay the GPDX fired up.
5mm x71 to start easier pair split other elongated.
3.6 x99 both split
back to the 5mm no change.
Tried again with the 5mm about an hour latre after the cloud moved on and manged to split wthem both with the 5m.
Popped the 20mm back in and had a squint at Mr B and had a brai wave now I have the shorter tube on the FS 60 would the bino viewer (BM) work.
Yes but had to couple with the 2.5 powermate.
Back to Mr B and spent a good 20 mins with the 20mm and 7.5's in the BM.
Just for a giggle I tried the 7.5's on Mars and not bad, polar cap and a dark smudge just above it and clearly gibbous.
Back to the 20's and over to M45 another 10 mins or so gazing at the sisters.
To finish Venus just showing a very bright just under a half phase.
It is quite amusing to see the little FS60 with the large 20m Nag or the BM's.
Oh look its getting light best go to bed.

Quick scan with the 20mm nag at a few objects including a very very bright devils lamp, can't se a lot out of that eye at the moment 😄
Bit of cloud bubbled up.
