Do you use a filter when observing the red planet? I always find it too washed out when using my dob. Even with a neutral density filter I struggle to see any detail
If you have colour filters try those and have a try at stacking them.
I remeber doing this last time round and I'm sorry I can't remember the combination of the 2 filters that when stacked worked the best for me but wth the C11 it worked well.

Thank you Steve, yes, that is pretty clear! Were you using Spectrum Lab to capture?
Yes I was, it used to work fine but I am struggling with it this time around. That one was on the old PC and from 2016.
I got the dongle last year and fiddled with it and could not get it to work so it went in a box.
I am in the process of decorating and during the tidy round re- discovered the dongle (any excuse to avoid the D word) and this time I got it working but am struggling as it only giving a short "ping" , the sound is difficult to pick from the background mush and SL is not picking it up on the conditional actions.

A lot of fiddling with the mount as the RA kept stalling, backing off the worm bearing tension seemed to cure it.
A battle with the dew as the dew shield was flapping a bit in the wind and the dew band on its own could not cope.

I got that with an image of mine and found that if I reduced the number of align boxes it helped ,then I tried a few manual points (7 I think) of various sizes around features I could see and the lines did not appear.

Just managed to get this at 16-5o Local time before it went below the local horizon.

Nice hoping for a glimpse myself.
Set up, clouded over and I think if it does make an appearence I might have to start the begining of musical mount postioning as it has moved into the garage in the afternoon for the next 3 months.

Thanks.
Very little coming out of Notttingham at the moment due to the weather.

Managed to squeeze 200 frames out of the capture with most of the cloud missing so as I could stack about 120 and before I rerached the shed roof line.

I used to run with a Yupiteru receiver but upgraded to an HDSR system and lost the audio "pings" and it also created too many false positives.
I would be interested in any tips to solve both.
TIA

I did hope it might kick off a bit more, we could all do with a decent spot or 2 as I want to give the WL rig a good test.
I too have an internal water feature in the garage.

Looks like it's been clearer up north today and still cloudy here.
Dave
Not for long and the seeing was on and off, I set up and then had to wait an hour for the next clear patch.

Very nice.
It would not keep away from the clouds long enough for me today.
