  2. What low Bridges......... OOPs............................................... There's tea gone πŸ™ƒ Oh thank god.... Tea's OK ! Got here safely. Jim and Dawn arrived late on. Monday. Weather rain all night but not too bad now. Had a dry spell this morning and scope mostly set up for tonight if any luck with the weather. Shower and ablutions block look great.

  5. 🀞🀞🀞 Getting the jitters now πŸ™‚ Excitement building πŸ”πŸŒŒπŸ˜ƒ
  6. Be nice to meet up again Kenny. Just one point though, You do mean the right Friday & Saturday when we are all there🀣
  7. Sign of the times I guess. I am probably in the minority, but poor upbringing and teaching of what is acceptable and what is not. There are no proper penalties for criminal behavior anymore.
  8. OK folks, Just checked with the site owner Lesley. She has said that the revamping work they were doing to the toilets and showers is almost finished bar the cleaning down. So we are all ready for the start of the Spring 2022 Scottish Star Camp. Officially it runs from the Monday 31st February to the Friday 4th March but there is the weekend as always promised for people who cannot get there during the working week. So the dates include the 5th and 6th March. Meaning late attendees would be leaving early on the Monday 7th March. it is the best I could do for this Star Camp. Usually I could have included the prior weekend but because of the revamping work it was not possible this time. There are a few pitches still going so if anyone wants to attend please book with Lesley ASAP !!! Leaving it until too late is not a good idea. So looking forwards to seeing you all, drive safely and get there in one piece.... Regards to all.
  9. Hi everyone Mapstar is correct. The site is shown booked fully during a Star Camp specifically as it is only for Star Camp attendees. Lesley does this on purpose so only those of us actual astronomers are allowed, i.e. no holiday makers or general public. To book up you must phone Lesley and arrange your pitch with her. She will tell you if there is space available. Remember only 25 pitches are available to us: Once booked there are no more. At present there are a few pitches left, so book now! I do not keep tabs on the number of pitches left as I would be phoning up every day. I do phone up about once a month during the year and then each couple of weeks as it gets closer to the date.
  10. 🌩️ Didn't know you were related Damian Michael Fish your long lost Uncle then? πŸ’¦ πŸ’¨ πŸ’ 🌩️ πŸŒͺ️ I hope NOT 🀣 Only good weather allowed.
  11. Oh Dear !!! How will Damian survive the wait for a hot meal 🀣
  12. We'll just confirmed with Lesley, I should be arriving on the Sunday 27th for the week. Be nice to know from you all who is arriving and whenπŸ˜ƒ. Wishing you all the best for the travel and weather.
  13. Amazing to consider Golf has gone from something any one could play as a newly invented pastime for the poor in its initial phases; to a playground for the very rich on some Golf Courses these days ! Last I heard was that the Leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un played his first game ever a short while ago. Apparently he got 18 holes in one........ Something the so called Professionals would be proud of...................Amazing 🀣
  14. Revelations !! You play Golf ...............................😱 Sorry to hear Kenny won't be there. Give him my best wishes please.
  15. Hope he does soon then Hope he does as soon as possible then! πŸ₯ƒ
  16. After talking to Lesley, I believe that there maybe around 10 or so pitches left at present. We quite often have less attendees at the Spring Star Camp, unlike the Autumn one, but the Pandemic/Scottish uncertainty has I think also affected this number recently. We are still restricted to a maximum of 25 pitches though. The loss of the 2 statics also restricts some of our members attending!
  17. Good News for now anyway. I have just had a chance to talk to Lesley at the camp site and discuss what is happening there. She and Ralph are in the throws of a complete revamp of the "on site facilities" at present. i.e. the ablutions blocks are being completely redone. She is pretty confident it will all be finished for the start of the Star Camp. 🀞 So the Scottish Star Camp is 99% sure to go ahead as planned. Starting the 28th this month but by "prior arrangement with Lesley" can carry on over the weekend ( 5th and 6th March ). I had to start it on the Monday 28th February to centralize the New Moon. ( I think the work may go on until the last moment ) For any who have NOT as yet booked a pitch, there are a few left so get in soon!!! Hope to see you all there πŸ˜€
  18. Just a short note ! I am expecting, (fingers crossed), that all will be well for the Star Camp to go ahead starting the 28th February. I cannot talk to Lesley at present as she is not available until next week. So I will update everyone ASAP sometime after I can contact her and have a chat. Cheers,
  19. Hi Jim and Dawn and everyone else who is hoping to attend our 2022 Spring Star Camp. Happy New Year you all. Yes most of the problems are sorted out I hope. As of yet I have not spoken to Lesley about the Star Camp as I think it is a wee bit too soon. I am still awaiting the outcome of the latest Covid-19 restrictions being lifted in Bonny Scotland. To be honest I hope all will be well and we can go ahead with a happy camp. I will post an update shortly.
  20. Glad you got going Peter. I must admit I use Lindy cables almost all the time. I have found that most cheaper types are rubbish and unstable. Lindy active cables are rely good. Was the power on the system when the water got in, if not you may get the usb cable working when enough time is allowed for it to dry out completely. I would not count on that though. ☹️ Had a roofer around today and estimated cost of £400 to fix my roof...................... Oh well, at least my wife will not be winging on at me up a ladder 🀣
