  1. lens cell = The bit at the base that holds the glass? On the deluxe Barlow, it unscrews allowing you to fit it directly onto an eyepiece.
  2. I was recommended the Skywatcher Deluxe 2x Barlow. It works well for my eyes. You can, should you wish, just use the lens cell as a 1.5x Barlow?
  3. craigfoot......your intended 4mm Planetary will be dimmer than a 7mm which would be more suited to your telescope? The 4mm will be pushing the limits. You could Barlow the 15mm to give 7.5mm!
  4. I'm finding clear outside slightly less than perfect for my needs at present. I found UK Weather Forecast was a good app for Android, which surprised me one evening over its accuracy!
  5. daiwelly.....hi, have you considered any BST's on your wish list, only 60° afov but almost half the price, 'Alan' will let you try them out, and if you're completely satisfied, he will refund you. It will cost a couple of quid to return them. If the BST's don't satisfy, at least you tried them and you get your money back, then move on? The BSTs have good eye relief ( i see your glasses in your avatar) but I don't wear my prescriptions at the eyepiece) all my EP's work well for me on the 200P.
  6. ...............Blue skies today, clear evening, put the scope out at 2100Hrs to cool last night , its now 00:28 and cloudy, scope comes back in, maybe bedtime. I give up!
  7. Don't give up, unless you have damaged something? There has to be a way to replace everything in the right order! If you have truly have given up, or feel its too expensive to have TeleVue re-assemble the lens, send me the lens. It would be a challenge to re-assemble the optics, and the option to try out the one of the TeleVue branded EP's to really see if a lens can make a difference, not that there is anything wrong with BST's on my f6 telescope? If I manage to get it up and running, I`ll return the lens. If I'm unsuccessful, someone else could try. I changed some capacitors on a 42" TV last week, and succesfully restored the power function to the TV. Cost of capacitors £2 for the pair. I also managed to photograph each stage of de-construction ready for re-construction. Maybe an option for anyone considering an eyepiece overhaul. Despite this particular eyepiece "....the whole thing fell apart..." there is still good reason to photograph in-case of any mis-hap. Now where's my horse!
  8. I might re-install my link as the top bar has been red since first use. Must just be the normal weather.
  9. Not sure how I've missed seeing this excellent article before. A great help for newcomers. One thing of note, you mention the 8x50 optical finder. I was under the impression its a 9x50? Minor detail maybe!
  10. For a company to go out of their way to help their customers I cant thank flo enough in the way they have just dealt with my shopping experience on this occasion. I have some special delivery requirements, that differ to their normal methods of delivery, and flo were willing to change their method on my behalf and my goods arrived safe and sound. I know from previous reports that other folk have also had a great shopping experience with flo, one way or another. I'll single out Martin, SteveB and James who all had something to do with my correspondence and the end result. Once again, thank you.
