  1. Has anyone applied the hacked D7000 firmware vers 1.03 to disable star eater and true dark current? is it worth the risk and did it work with no problems?
  2. ignore me! my memory is clearly fading as i have already done the BT conversion a while ago but had completely forgotten how i did it! now re read the thread and found my entries explaining how! sometimes i wonder how i manage to get through the day!
  3. Hello all has anyone converted this focuser to bluetooth?
  4. OK Dave I looked at the link above and changed my connection that your diagram shows going to the EN port on the BT module and connected it to PIN 34 instead and bingo i now have a BT broadcasting as Focuser and pairs with 9999 and it all works see the pics of my module any ideas why this would be?
  5. Hi Dave yes using the v2.5.0 with the bluetooth section in it and i have removed the \\ infront of that section. there was only one place to remove it wasn't there?
  6. hi I took the leap and upgraded my focuser to Bluetooth but no matter what I do I cannot get it to work. I have changed the sketch so it enables Bluetooth and I get the flashing lights on the hc05 but then they go out after a few seconds and the Bluetooth stops broadcasting. also notice that when the lights are on its broadcast as a hc05 and not focuser as in the sketch! I have rebuilt the wiring completely and get the same result! any help gratefully received
  7. well impressed with mine now. temp sensor fitted and working so all complete. think it cost me the sum total of £12.50 in parts. brilliant job Tekkydave thanks very much
  8. All finished and working well. I used double sided foam tape to attach it in the end. Keep it simple I said
  9. Does ayone know what size and thread the four black screws are on the skywatcher focuser as I need some a few mm longer to hold my bracket on? getting closer to finishing this now thanks in advance
  10. I read the thread and thought I will have a go at this as well. step one was ordering the parts which so far the only one to turn up was the Arduino nano. so i thought i would plug it into the USB and see how I get on loading things up. I was a little nervous as I am using a Microsoft surface running Windows 10! however all is well with the world. the USB driver found itself when asked to search the interweb, the Arduino software connected via Com9 and allowed me to upload the sketch and library zip files with no problems. AAF2test works a treat and so does the FocusAAF2! now the hard part to fit it all together with some hardware brilliant work on the sketch Tekkydave well done also note I have yet to find any software that doesnt run on WIndows 10 all of the ascom stuff works, Cartes du ciel, PHD2 and backyard Nikon all as good as gold and deepsky stacker flies!

Took this on the last night of the meteor shower but failed to see any :( anyway it was my first go at long exposure so it wasn't all bad. 5 x 5 minute shots with 2 x darks stacked in dss default settings just taken with my DSLR with 50mm lens sat on top of my HEQ5 need to play with aperture and iso next time but pleased with the result.
