  1. Maybe I should think about using camera lenses and DSLR for astro imaging in the UK, seems a waist having so much invested in CCD's and scopes only to use less than 10x per year? anyone?

      Ever wonder why there are so few of us astrophotographers in the UK? It's almost certainly down to the weather - it's a real stumbling block. I can't actually remember the last time when I used a scope cover to leave my scope outside ready for the next clear night to follow.

      A DSLR can take you a very long way indeed, although if I were you, I'd stick with the 428 and APM and just have a few good nights first before making a decision either which way.

      Was thinking about using the 428 with an EF400 f/5.6 L and DSLR, the APM's a keeper and is fabulous for visual also..
