  1. I will try that, can I still do it with those last two from my last post ?
  2. IC1805, IC1396 using a basic editing program, took about 5 min. each. Some reproduction of photos on this site is bad, can you reduce the size on here for a better overall reproduction ? These really aren't worth showing save to bring attention to the quality.
  3. The new tripod for my SS, that I showed a few posts ago, raised it to 38" (90mm) to the bottom of the SS from 16" (40mm), its stable as rock and it is easier bending over to access it for whatever reason. Some on another forum thought it would be top heavy in a wind but it would have to be tornado force, lol ! You just have to make sure you keep your da* feet away from the legs, lol !
  4. He would start out at a loss for words, lol !
  5. Thanx ! Just pointing out to eager fellow astronomers its capabilities, its instant views which we have all been told over many prior months. Its part of our duties to bring this out to waiting enthusiasts who are kind of sitting on the fence wondering if whether spending about $500 is worth it ! In my mind from what I can see, right now, it is a piece of gear for everyone who enjoys their night sky overhead, bar none !
  6. IC 1318 last night in my driveway about 10:30 with dim LED streetlights nearby and the neighbors kitchen lite dimly turned on and rain moving in. And lightly touched up with my ipads photo editor.
  7. The nice thing is you will see dso's more like the astronomy books rather than faint objects through a scope. And I have some pretty capable scopes. They are a great, low cost, compliment to our scopes !
  8. Don't call it laziness, its just another direction to travel, a change of pace in this great hobby !
  9. I won't get into that type of back and forth, a heated discussion maybe (lol), try them both and you decide for your self, its the best way, the only way ! You will love the SS !
  10. The PacMan raw and then enhanced with my ipad.
  11. M27 for 2min raw and then I doctored it with my ipad basic editing program. It was a quick edit, I have done better, lol !(
  12. Here is a 13 min. raw from last nite, Bortle 5-6, not very good skies, usually they are Bortle 4 and less warm / humid.
  13. My first try at the sun between big, puffy clouds and +80° F temps which are pretty rare for this time of year in Northern Ontario. The second is a raw photo.
  14. My SS all loaded and ready to fire !
  15. Took my SS out in my less than perfect backyard, Bortle 5-6, last nite and gave it a first try on all the old faithfuls, the Dumbell, M31, M33, the Pac Man, etc. all were 12 min. or less. For the price this is and is going to be a fantastic piece of equipment ! Much friendlier than my Dwarf II ! Another sector of this great hobby to try, this morning will be the sun on a bright, clear day.
  16. I am glad you said ' to each his own a while back ', try not to get your hands too sticky, lol ! Me I'm stickin' to Ali !
  17. There is only one way to find out the virtues of that dew shield and its not speculation from afar, lol !
  18. Your comments, again, are distant speculation from what I can tell as well as ......... !
  19. I am glad you said ' if ', I am betting my money on Ali, from past experience. As to an adaptor why don't you contact them and ask, its very simple.
  20. You got that right, lol ! If I can't afford to spend that kind of cash on something like that, even if they are no good, I am getting out of this hobby, lol ! But I have faith in Ali !
  21. I haven't received them yet, I just ordered them but feel free to check them out on Ali, for yourself ! I don't do links.
  22. You can even by short extensions for the tripod legs, they come in a 3 pack, the lens cover, the dew shield and the leg extensions for the one price + shipping.
  23. On another SS site one guy has one and he says it fits perfectly over the lens.
  24. And don't forget the dew shield, I don't know what you mean by 'better deal' but as always if you want something you pay the price or you do without, there isn't a lot of choice around. Yet ! PS: I never worry about the cost, if one does they would never have anything, some call it being cheep, lol !
  25. Just bought a lens cover and dew shield for the SS from AliExpress !
